The safety contact strips must only be done by authorised persons.
For easy installation, the aluminium C-section should be installed on a flat surface. If it is necessary to install the safety contact strip in a curve, the maximum radius must not be exceeded.
For fastening of the aluminium C-section, recessed screw heads or rivets with 4mm radimeter are recommended. Drill holes of 4.5mm should be not more than 300mm apart over the whole length of the C-section and they should have the proper recesses for the screw heads.
Screws with a flat head or half-round head should not be used as they can damage the connecting wires in the aluminium C-section.
To install the electrical cable inside the C-section, an 8mm hole needs to be drilled. The hole needs to be deburred carefully. Then the included rubber sleeve needs to be inserted. The connecting wire and the 30cm long cable with integrated terminating resistor can be installed inside the C-section.
For easy installation the C-section and the safety contact strip should be sprayed with a soapy water solution. Then one side of the rubber section can be fitted into the C-section and then pressed into place. Talcum powder, oils or similar long lasting lubricants must not be used during the installation as this may result in subsequent movement of the safety contact strip!
Pulling or pushing of the safety contact strip into the aluminium C-section can result in damage to the contact strip and is to be avoided under all circumstances. Any change from the recommended installation procedure must be discussed with the manufacturer.
