Conditions

According to DIN EN 12453 all powered gates have to be fitted with measures that safely avoid dangers at shearing and pressure points, provided these gates are not operated by 'dead man' switches. All danger points up to 2.5 m in hight and in situations where persons can be lifted by a gate must be considered. The chosen kind of protection has to immediately stop the gate before a danger point is reached.

 

Installation instructions

Roller lattice doors

Because roller doors enable transportation of people, danger points 1 and 2 need to be protected. Protection of danger point 3 is essential if the distance between the highest part of the floor and the lowest part of the ceiling is less than 2.5 m and the take-up roll is not protected.vorhanden ist.

Roller gates

Protection of danger point 1 is essential when it is possible for a person to grab onto and travel with th gate or if the hight of point 1 is less than 2.5 m. Protection of danger point 2 is essential when the distance between the highest part of the floor and the lower part of the take-up part of the roller door or its outer lining is less than 2.5 m or if it is possible for a person to hold on to or travel with the gate. Protection of danger point 3 is identical to the one described for roller lattice doors.

Section doors

Protection of danger point 1 is essential if it is possible for a person to hold onto or travel with the moving segment or if the hight of the danger point is less than 2.5 m. If there is a danger point on the inside of the door, this must also be protected if it is less than 2.5 m or if a person can travel with the door segment.
