Accessories:
The contact strips KS15 and KS18 are used as security switches at shearing points. Compared to other switching gear, the advantage of these switches are material of construction and optimum design for the purpose. The homogenous outer material of TPE has an inner, highly conductive elastomer. Embedded in this conductive material is a tinned copper braid which enables low resistance monitoring of the assembled units over long distances of 200 meters and more. Contact characteristics are excellent because the two switching surfaces can touch easily without the need to overcome any isolating barrier material.
The excellent bounce-back ability of the strips is guaranteed through the mechanical design of the construction material TPE. The assembled contact strip is embedded in a metal base for excellent oncarriage way. The contact strip is protected by the metal base. Various terminating resistors and monitoring options are available. Permission as a safety contact strip is regulated by various registrations at different institutes according to the latest standards.
Mini Strip SKL 15-10 TK
Construction
The safety contact strip SKL 15-10 TK is of a single chamber construction. This makes the manufacturing of the strip easier; only the plugs need to be configured. The big advantage over other switching devices is the material used in the construction and the shape of the device. The homogenous, highly isolating outer material of the contact strip is EPDM. On the inside the housing contains two conducting switching surfaces that contain two embedded copper braids that enable low resistance readings over more than 100 m in length.

The safety contact strip SKL 15-10 TK is for crushing point protection at shearing points. It is applied at gates, machines and near manual activities to protect personnel and machines. The construction consists out of the contact element and the aluminium base. The design of the shape and the EPDM rubber compound ensure low force activation across a large temperature range. The basis for full-time monitoring of proper working order of the switch is ensured via the rest-current principle. The last contact strip in a possible series of strips contains a terminating resistor which is continuously evaluated by the control unit. This ensures monitoring of the complete assembly for electrical shorts or cable breaks.
