Safety Bumpers are used to protect crushing and shearing points. The areas of application are diverse:
Machines, driverless transport systems, hangar doors, and for all moving parts from which a hazard can emanate.
Safety contact buffers are safety devices on transport vehicles, AGVs, high-bay warehouses, free-moving systems and wherever larger deformation paths of the safety device are required.
The short response time of the bumper ensures the immediate control command “Stop” when approaching an obstacle. The ASB Safety Bumper consists of a foam core bonded to an aluminum support profile and covered with cross-linked polyurethane or NBR rubber for protection against damage or moisture.
IInside the bumper there is a safety contact strip which is actuated in the event of compression. This information is then processed by the evaluation electronics to immediately “stop” all movements. By selecting a suitable size of safety contact buffer, a safe stop is ensured even in inert systems, due to the low pressure load required for triggering.
